Full Version: In Need of a Hand Jewelry Engraver

I had an elderly gentleman come into the shop today with a antique pocket watch that was given to his father by the Packard Car Company in the early 1900's - it was engraved (hand engraved I assume) with some of the finest quality script engraving I had ever seen. In 1938 it was engraved again by hand in a simular font - possible by the same shop who did it originally. He would like to have it engraved once more and give it to his grand daughter.
Since he had already exhausted all the local jewlers he came to me. Needless to say I am only trying to find a some else who can help him.
So I am in search of a hand engraver who will engrave on this gold pocket watch. The amount of engraving is small but to keep the quality of what has been done before I need a very good hand engraver who does jewelry. Can someone suggest a hand engraver to do this job that you would feel comfortable with?? I want nothing from this just wanting the gentleman to get quality work. Things Remembered offered to stick a thin metal plate on it but that would be a shame with such a beautiful piece.
I have done some looking on the net for hand engravers but not being personally familiar with any of these men, I am hoping for a recommendation from someone here.

Joe,

Sounds like a job for forum member, Ron Huntington.

Not recommending him simply because he's a forum member, just as a person who can do an excellent job.

I've had some worked performed by Ron. Very, very nice!

Would love to see a picture of this "art" posted when it is completed.

While you're waiting for that work of art, here's a photo of Ron at work.
