We are back up! http://www.worldofengraving.com
I'm sorry about you having to register again, but I actually screwed up backing up the old database for the new site.
I hope you enjoy your stay.

Geeee. The last 10 posts or so really underline why a pay site is a bogus idea. And three, four competing engraving sites? How much time do any of you have to root around multiple sites a day?
Dave, I believe you're making a mistake going subscription. I mentioned this today in the other thread. It's not the nickel or dime a day it would cost, it's that most people feel online chat lists should be free. I would much rather you accept advertising and keep this site free.
But, whatever.
Hula-On!

I'm told that's your name. Your forum is proudly listed in our "Links of Interest."
Thank you for taking the initiative to establish a cost-free venue.

Mike,
More and more, that answer (for me personally) is none.
That was the original purpose (circa 2000) in establishing such a multi-facted forum.
If I felt this weren't already more than an online chat list, with much more value, soon to be added, I'd agree with those people.

Ken,
I'm curious. Before you mandated registration to your forum, in order for people to view messages, someone sent a link to a message.
I can't remember the topic, but I do remember the link included "engravingetcfree.com" (EEF.com)
That was after you changed the name of your forum.
Are links in email notifications still including EEF.com?

They haven't since the name change was made. Must of been a very old post. When the name change was made the original database was lost and so was the EEF posts. We started completly fresh with the new name.
We are growing with our own format and not trying to mimic EE..org present format, so it would not be in our best interest to have anything refering to EE.org, but we do have a link to EE.ORG on our forum

I appreciate the explanation and your consideration of remaining a separate entity, in every way.
You've taken a lot of weight off my shoulders, in establishing a cost-free venue for the industry.
Thanks again,

It doesn't do anyone any good to have the "US against THEM" attitude, we both agree about a lot of things, and the main one is to supply an arena for members to share ideas, help each other, and have a place to distribute educational and instructional material.
In the end it is hopeful our members supply a better product or service to their customers. So I see it as a Win-Win for all involved.

Of course the original poster is free to post in both forums for themselves....
