I miss our 'Tuesday night chats'. I am so sorry to hear this news, it was always nice to refer people to somebody selling true American products. If while closing shop - you run across that check I sent you in January '05 - please cash it, I've left in my records so every month when I balance my checkbook I think of you :-) . Get your health issues resolved and stay in touch.

Zona...thank you so much for the kind words. One never knows when I may show up again. I have retained my lavivrus biz name and url for possible future use.

What does make me sad is that a vendor in the sublimation business has led me on for about a year now in regards to purchasing and continuing on the biz, only to after it is too late, come in with a ridiculous offer. I don't get it...why do people always have to steal what they want?

As for the check, Zona, it was torn up long ago as I told you it would be. It was a pleasure to take a look at something different with you. Maybe in the next venture I will stumble upon the ultimate wedding gift item and we can both enjoy great sales for a year or two before Asia knocks it off!

To everyone... thank you so much for your kind words, emails and phone calls.

It has a been a pleasure to be part of this brotherhood from the side of the fence as a vendor, I'm looking forward to being around as a visitor, and who knows just what in the future. I know that I'm not very oriented to working for a big corporation, have been there, done that.

Just beware, I'm around, lurking until one of you gets out of hand and I have to put back in line....

DL...this goes triple for you! ;-)

Doug,

DL?

Hmmm...Could be almost anyone, with those initials, but I suspect you may be referring to me.

I can't remember the last time I got out of hand, but I'll keep in mind that you'll be watching from the wings. :-)

I'm not surprised to see all the well wishers. You're a man of principle and an All-American craftsman.

Not enough like you around.

All the best,

Doug,
Thank You for being a friend to the dog tag project. Many soldiers and their children are still smiling because of your generosity.
We are currently at 179,000 sent and could not have gotten this far without people like you who cared and believed at the beginning.
I hope everything works out for you.

Rose

It was a honor to be a small part of the dog tag program. Nothing that I could do could ever equal the effort that you have put forth on such a well deserved program.

How about an update on how the program is going and what you forsee the future to be...what are your needs today and tomorrow?

Hi Doug ....I am deeply sadened by your loss of being directly involved in both this venue and the sublimation forum and the associated products/services/information your provided us.
I will be looking forward to seeing you again hopefully in the near future, and if you are passing thru the Lake Chelan area please stop on by!

Did your 'Idaho' connection ever come to pass?

As I said, we have passed 179,000 sent tags. Along the way I have met some incredible people and heard some amazing stories! I have adopted the attitude that Some give all and some don't give at all. I have met parents of 4 fallen Soldiers/Marines now and can't even imagine what they go thru. I do know that the picture tags we give them sometimes provide a tiny bit of comfort to the families. More than anything both tags let the military and their families know that someone cares. If you think about it, that is the most important thing, knowing someone else cares.
We are working with the Patriot Guard in So. Cal, some in Oregon and some in Michigan. They are starting to get tags for the missions they go to. They help support the dog tag project while doing so. Like I said, we have met some amazing people along the way!

America Supports You won't put a link to us on their site because they say "We don't fit in"
We will keep connecting hearts one tag at a time. Thank you for helping us do that.

Thanks John, I appreciate the kind words. As I'm selling off the equipment, each day is a little tougher than the one before.

Yes, the Idaho connection did finally come through. Unfortunately, they embarrassed themselves with their offer and therefore are not in the picture.

Doug
