We have a local station that now has added a 4:00 news hour, followed by a 5:00 news hour, followed by 6:00 regular news.
Imagine all the digging they have to do to report for 2 1/2 hours each day, oh, and dont forget the 11pm news.
The strange thing, each news program has it's own set of anchor people, sports and weather person. Seems like an expensive way to report the news.

Maybe it's an L.A. thing, but I lost it for some local news channels, when they started competing with the entertainment channels, i.e. Entertainment Tonight, etc.
I don't particularly consider celebrity daliances, or divorces, etc. as news.
Also, instead of telling the news, they tease for an upcoming news segment. Must not be news, of very high import, if they can wait an hour or two to actually report it.

Hey David,
You can't forget the MOST IMPORTANT So Cal NEWS "The So. Cal. car chases.
I think they average about 2 hours. and the funny thing is it always ends up the same way. They always catch the idiots and yet people still do it just to get on TV. "only in L.A."

I hate to confess, but I get sucked into watching how those chases end up; especially the motorcycle chases. >.<
