I'm sure you've thought of this--I back up my art files on cd's every month or so. If you do that maybe the file is on one of your back-ups.

I back up on an external hard drive weekly and store it off site but was lost between backup - under normal conditions I would have never lost it but - it seems as though it is gone - first time I can remember completely loosing a created file. Hope it is the last.
