We have had an absolute ball..Perth is an unbelievable city.
NEWS FLASH !! tonights TV news has said that Perth has the most expensive average house prices in the World....
Dont bother trying to move here unless you have at least $ 450,000 for a home.

Peter,
The average price for an "apartment" in New York City is now over $1,000,000. The median cost of that same apartment is about $740,000.
It sounds like Perth may be a great place for a New Yorker to retire. :P

Those of us paying mortgages in the blue pacific would dispute that. Median HOUSE price here is around $600,000

When we were living in CT some 15 years ago there was a blurb in our paper that a group in Greenwich was holding a meeting to try to figure out why there was no middle class residing there. It seems at that time the median price of a house was $450,000.00! I have no idea what if anything they came up with. We did NOT live in Greenwich.

In 2000 the median household income was ~$200,000 per year. This is almost as high as the "pineapple palace"....
