I tried opening in X3 and it wouldn't open. Also tried importing, no luck there either. Looks like a corrupt file to me.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for trying. I thought 12 might have been a bit old, however it seems not

Griffo,
I blieve the problem is the first dot. in front of new and the dot in front of 384. the dot (period) signifies the end of the file name then the extension. Ask your client to rename the file so it is "filename.eps" instead of "filename.now.384.eps" and see if that makes a difference. It happened to me once and that was indeed the problem.

Maybe that would work, but I doubt it. I renamed it on my computer and it still did the same thing. I don't think having them rename it when they save it will make a difference. But... you never know.

Hi Dave,
You got further than me with the error message.
The best I've got so far is a dotted box.
Thanks for trying

Hi Chuck,
That was my first thought as well but I didn't seem to get anywhere.
I renamed it with all sorts of extensions to no avail.
I've sent it back to my customer this morning and asked for it in either .cdr or ai
Have to wait and see waht happens I guess.
Thanks for trying
Regards
Dave

Gary,
Did you rename it in Windows Explorer or in a dos window? That will actually change the header in the file.
Edit: Well I posted before trying it. It works that way in OS/2.
I do not have the software to open eps files on this computer but I wonder if you changed the heading in notepad does it open?

Hi Dave.
I was hoping that I could get a vector file straight off, however if I can't, the PDF might be the only option
Thanks
Dave
