How long does it take to laser this image? The idea Harvey proposes is right on I think. Perhaps it would be wise to laser the first piece to scrap or wood or something first and then set up to do the real thing. May I ask what price range these sell for? If you don't want to publish that here, please pm me.

I don't mind at all. It took about 45 minutes per piece. Then I mounted it to a 1/2 inch piece of plywood and made the cherry frame. I sell them for $900 here in Cheyenne. I have a whole set of nine photos in the series that I use. I am really hoping that the banquet turns out really well for these. I am only a year into this and still have quite a bit of the learning curve to get through. Slowly but surely, trial and error I am getting there.

Thanks for the information and "bravo"--nice job. Hope I can do as well this year. You've got me here, this is really my first two months. Sure is fun though--at least so far. I also own a floor covering biz--it's no fun at all, nothing but hard work and slim margins, especially on the larger jobs. Good luck and thanks again.

Mikey, are you going to custom cut floor coverings? I looked at doing it in my shop. Our logo is a black and white logo. It would lend itself to cuttiing floor tiles then installing it. I think it would be really fun. Now, if I just had the time.......
My kid cut a bunch of wood flooring for a friend of his. Then the fellow put it together like a huge inlay. Did it come out nice. CUSTOM = $$$'s

Yes, we have already cut and install custom stone floors and mosaics. Now I can put custom designs in the stone as well. There is a company up by you Oshkosh wood flooring--they do some very custom medalions, borders and inlays and I suspect they are doing it with a laser and mounting on heavier stock out of wood.
Where exactly is Hudson?

We are on the other side of the state. Hudson is about 20 miles east of St. Paul, MN. Hudson is at Exit 1 on Int. 94 coming out of Minn. and coming into WI.
Unless the people in Oshkosh have their own equipment, they might be using a big laser jobshop just outside of Ripon, WI. , Stencil Aire/ Laser Excell. Now these guys can cut parts at very reasonable prices.
If you ever get into a fix, and need to have large amounts of parts cut at reasonable prices, contact them. Woods, plastics and I think some metals.
Disclaimer: I do not have anything to do with the above. I have never worked for the above. I do not have anything invested in the above. The only thing we have in common is that we both are in the great state of Wisconsin. I have used them in the past to cut parts, and they did a great job at a very affordable price. (In case they are reading this, I would like a 53" big screen TV, so my kids might stop at home every once in a while and watch TV with me.)

A-ha! Another sinister plot uncovered.
(We're going to get in SO much trouble for taking this thread off-topic. I'd better shut up.)
