Full Version: XP/Corel X3 Print lag

It seems to be getting worse as time goes on.......when I hit Control P there is a good 10 second delay before it brings up the driver window. Then, on subsequent clicks I get the same delay.....it's getting very frustrating.
I hooked up my other computer with Corel 9 installed and all selections were instant..........
1 gig ram
2.8 processor
plenty of unused HD space available
Any ideas?

I have run into huge lags with Corel X3 and Win XP. They have increased dramatically in the past month. I suspect an update to one or both of them has caused it. Corel 9 and Win XP is still fairly fast, but also seems a slight bit slower than it was.
I thought it was me or something Norton let through. In a way I am glad that I am not the only one. But I am not glad that something that once worked well is now almost broken.

Brian,
This has happened to me on only a couple of occasions, so not enough to be a nuisance to me.
If you do not find the answer here, you might try the Corel Draw Users Group on Yahoo groups.
Good luck. Let us know how it works out.

That works for you "OLD" timers. ( insert laugh here)..... but for us newbies who only go back as far as 12.....it could still be a problem.

I feel that it is better than going back to version 1. Those floppies probably have fallen apart by now.
Or did I start with 3? I loved the old Page Maker far better.

I don't think I can go back to 9.....I suppose I could re-install 9, do the layout in X3 and print with 9.
hmmm...

Someone on the CorelX3 user group said that there is a problem with Draw not releasing the spooler properly after a print job. Apparently it started in version 9 or 10 and has carried on since then.
Even so, having moved from V11 to V13, the delay problem seems much worse.

Brian,
Try the defaults button in the driver if that does not work try un installing the driver re boot the computer and then re install the driver.
You are using 1.07M version correct?

I don't use coreldraw much for the laser engraver.
When sending to the c88 sublimation or Konica Minolta OEM laser printer I hadn't noticed slowness before doing the last 2 coreldraw X3 updates.
I had some customer art with a lot of objects and I fit 15 on a page.
I first tried the sublimation printer and it never did print.
I got distracted after sending to the laser printer and thought it wasn't going to work. Many minutes later it started printing. I needed multiple copies and from the print preview repeating the same thing one at a time started printed much quicker.
