I did a test run on a piece that I had laying around. I used the settings that Epilog recommends for my machine, and the pic turned out fine.
The only issue will be with contrast. I tried your patented painting tool, but there just wasn't enough depth to the contrast.
I don't know that I want to spend the time required to find the right PhotoPaint settings to make the end result look good....probably not enough market here for that.

If there's not enough depth to "flood-fill" the image, Rub 'N Buff comes in a variety of colors and should work very well.
