I just cut a name out the other day for a motorcycle racer and I didnt get much smell at all.........I guess the key might be a good exhaust system.
Not sure what the neighbors were smelling but I got nothing........ (devil)

I think it depends on the tanning process used on that particular piece of leather. I engraved some bags last week that had virtually no smell but the test piece I used to see how the logo would look really stunk bad - like burnt hair.
