Thanks Ken, you stated it very clearly - actually, much better than my web guy did the first time we ran into this issue.

You're right, we are working with a shared SSL from my host, but are going to remedy that shortly as this has become more than just a nuisance now.

For anyone having this issue or the "your shopping cart is empty" error, please contact me directly at the shop (360) 652-8056 or email sean@absupplydesign.com and I'll make sure you are taken care of personally.

The shopping cart system is REALLY slick when it works- it spits out a perfect "picklist" that cannot be misread or misinterpreted like "I'll take 10 of those little alder things" left on the voice mail, or egyptian hieroglyphics off the fax, but it can be more of a hinderance to doing business when it doesn't work properly - I thought computers were supposed to make life easier - hahaha

OK, I'm done whining now - carry on...

Hello David,

Here is our banner ad, we would like this to run for June. We'll probably change this ad after that. We would like it to link to www.cerdecmark.com.

Thanks!

Sean

Sean,

I made that change, but for whatever reason, it's not linking.

I've sent an email to John Fish, to see what his take is.

In the meanwhile, I'll leave the ad on the page.

Thanks again,
David

Did you flush your cache? I'm seeing the right link on the trusted banners page.

BTW, did the rotating banner system change? I'm only seeing your two original banners now at the top of the forum pages. (EJ and that show)

Thank you Dave.

I guess it was a cache thing.

Speaking of a cash thing, that's why I placed "all" ads on the supplier page, with the "paid" suppliers (EJ & A&E) at the top of the forum page.

Collectively, their ads are worth thousands of dollars per year and I didn't want to diminish their exposure, by putting them in the mix with free ads on the forum page.

I made that explanation, before the separate page was developed.

I guess I misunderstood the explanation. I did understand that they were more valuable, but thought that was an issue about how they were placed on that other page with all the other ads. I guess I missed the part that the rest would be removed from rotation.

David

I still can't get it through my old noggin who the magazine ads are worth thousands to annually. I'm sure it isn't the forum members, they SHOULD already be aware of the industries leading journals. It can't be you cause you aren't benefiting and getting Thousands from the ads for the forum in the magazines.

On the other hand, the discounts offered by the suppliers I think are far more important to the forum members than the magazine ads. The forum members will save the Thousands by using these discounts (if they know about them). If each forum member saved only $10 anually it makes it over $13,000.00 in savings for the forum members.

I guess it is important for you though, on second thought, to have those forum ads appear in the magazines for when you go to the pay site. Every new member the ads pull in will be money in your pocket. 1300 current members times the $36 annual is $ 46,800.00.

Making the link at the top of the page to the member discount ads bigger and in color would help, it is very easy to overlook.

That's a good suggestion Mick. I'll have John make that change.

I love your optimism.

The magazine ads, if occupied by advertisers, other than myself, would generate thousands for the magazines.

If I had to go out-of-pocket for those amounts, there would be no magazine ads; especially as a free forum.

As you suggest, the magazine ads will become increasingly important, in the promotion of a pay site.

Check our "Special Deals" located at the top of this page, to see Big Sky Woodcrafters' June offer, which I believe is being extended through July as well.

Lisa,

Thank you to Big Sky Woodcrafters for joining our group of preferred suppliers.

Let me get your offer straight. You're offering a free sample pack of 6x8 plaques in all the types of wood listed?

If so, that's very generous. :-)

Was I correct, in saying your offer will be extended through July?

Edit: Ooops! I thought I posted to Lisa.

Dave,

Laserwood is a Beech wood. It has a tight grain and from my understanding is a nice wood for lasering. I can send you some samples if you would like.

Lisa,

Speaking of laser, are your plaques cut accurately enough, so people can batch the plaques in their laser machines?

I assume, from the precision desk wedges you made for me, the answer is yes, but I have to ask on behalf of our esteemed forum members.

Just doin' my job. :-)

David,

Our plaques have a 99% accuracy rating. We use a state of the art
CNC router. There is a 3/32 tolerance level. We have companies we produce qnty's for up to 1000 pieces at a time. To date there has never been an issue. (Knock on wood! Which there is plenty around here!)
