Check our "Special Deals" located at the top of this page, to see Big Sky Woodcrafters' June offer, which I believe is being extended through July as well.

Lisa,

Thank you to Big Sky Woodcrafters for joining our group of preferred suppliers.

Let me get your offer straight. You're offering a free sample pack of 6x8 plaques in all the types of wood listed?

If so, that's very generous. :-)

Was I correct, in saying your offer will be extended through July?

Edit: Ooops! I thought I posted to Lisa.

Dave,

Laserwood is a Beech wood. It has a tight grain and from my understanding is a nice wood for lasering. I can send you some samples if you would like.

Lisa,

Speaking of laser, are your plaques cut accurately enough, so people can batch the plaques in their laser machines?

I assume, from the precision desk wedges you made for me, the answer is yes, but I have to ask on behalf of our esteemed forum members.

Just doin' my job. :-)

David,

Our plaques have a 99% accuracy rating. We use a state of the art
CNC router. There is a 3/32 tolerance level. We have companies we produce qnty's for up to 1000 pieces at a time. To date there has never been an issue. (Knock on wood! Which there is plenty around here!)

My opinion is that the only safe way do do multiple objects accurately is to set up an inch mark for each item.

E.G., the first one lines up at 0", the second at 5.5", the third at 11", etc.

You can easily place the objects at those marks and not be messed up by a 1/32' off.

If you do a lot of the same items it is best to make a jig to hold them in the place that the layout specifies. After that it is simple setup and lasering.

Looks like you have some great looking things
that aren't available in many places.

Is it safe to assume you have 30 day billing accounts with approved credit.
With our absentee owner it is to cumbersome to pay by credit card.

If so I can request a catalog through your web site.

Also, on special order large size bases, is it feasable to order just one or a few or is that too much trouble and what is the normal turn around time.

Thanks,

I agree.

But it seem I am the only one that thinks this grid is a very good idea.
I never sweat the sizes that vary. Just center them between the grid lines that correspond to the layout and it makes it easy to do multiples.

Your grid idea is what I was alluding to.

See, you are not the only one who sees it as a big benefit.

Keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming offer from Coast Graphic Supply.

In my opinion, the West Coast's "Super Shop" of sublimation, not to mention silkscreen supplies and Roland products.

Note about Big Sky Woodcrafters...

Although they came highly recommended to me, I have never bought anything from them. However, given the opportunity, I most certainly would. Here's why...

In January or February of this year, I contacted BSW about doing some custom wooden trophies for me. Due to cost restrictions, I needed these made from MDF with applied paper veneer (cheap yet nice). This was going to be a once-per-year purchase of $500 to $600 per order.

I sent a picture or sketch of what I needed to Lisa. She spent a couple of days talking to me, and struck me as incredibly professional.

Because BSW deals in solid wood products, and not MDF, she refered me to another company. She said that these other folks were top-notch, and would take very good care of my order. In the end, BSW didn't make a dime for the time she spent with me...and didn't infer that I should buy something to help "make up" for that time. I was quite impressed with the way the whole thing was handled.

In my not-so-humble opinion, Big Sky Woodcrafters (from the customer service viewpoint) would be a fantastic company to deal with.

Hmmm...This should be interesting.

A forum member develops a product that should be of high interest to the laser engraving crowd and wants to become one of our preferred suppliers by offering a 10% discount to EE members.

From what I hear, Harvey has test driven the product and likes it.

Stay tuned. :-)

Ooops! The ad I posted, for Custom Markers and Memorials was a mockup.

I've taken it down until we get the final say on Byron's offer.

Sorry. :-$
