Cody,

I'm excited for you. The place looks great. It's truly a home away from home.

Cody,

We're so excited for you!

Daddy probably didn't tell you that he did an installation in Odessa on Tuesday. He drove home on Tuesday night (actually got to sleep in his own bed that night!) so he wouldn't miss your Grand Opening on Wednesday!

Thanks for letting all of us watch the progress you've made from Day 1. Now -- go get to work!

He didn't say anything about it, but I knew that he had made a very out-of-the-way trip.

When I saw him drive up, I told Janna "That looks like Roy's van. Nah...couldn't be."

Then he got out.

Janna's voice rose an octave when she yelled "IT IS ROY!!"

I honestly thought she was going to cry. His thoughtfulness touched us very deeply, and we KNOW that we're very blessed to get to work with you. You're a wonderful bunch of people, and we just love you!!

The feeling is mutual.

I don't want Chuck yelling at me for taking this thread off-topic, though, so I'll get us back where we belong ...

The Grand Opening photos were fantastic! I love the ribbon-cutting photo that shows Kalan upfront & center. It's one of the things I love about our industry -- so many of our "trophy shops" are family-owned & family-run. How fun is that?!

A beautiful job. Something to be really proud of.

Thanks for the tour from start to finish. It is probably one of the best tutorials ever done for our members.

All our best to you and your wife. All of you have worked really hard to make this happen. And we got to watch from afar. The building looks really great--inside AND out. Post more photos once it's fully stocked. I can hardly wait to steal some ideas.

Sharon and I will say a little "biz' prayer for you that may require a bigger front door for the "herd" of prospective customers that will stampeding to your store.

God bless.

Ed,

Any time you and Sharon want to take a trip to Texas, just come on....we'll make sure you have a great time! (As long as "a great time" can be had while working.)

Steal ideas? Not from me, sir.....I'll give them to you willingly. :)

Soooo much of what we've done has come from the input we've gotten here. Even down to my "wing wall" design (courtesy of David Takes).

We're still putting together some details, such as darkening the background for our clear acrylics.....but most everything is now in place, and customers keep finding us.

God has been incredibly good to us. We don't deserve it, but we're very thankful that He keeps blessing!

Thanks for your kind words, my friend.

Cody

Cody,

I don't know if you saw my tongue in cheek response to Jeanette or not, but if not, I want you to know you and Janna are an inspiration to me. You will succeed beyond your wildest dreams....

Good luck, I'm proud to call you a friend.

Thank you, Chuck.

And thanks to all for all the encouragement over these last few months while we've been getting this started. At times it was very tough (like when we were trying to find the money to do it, and had to fire a bank - another story for another time), but YOU have been an inspiration to us.

There were a few obstacles that I honestly didn't think we'd get over/around, but somehow we did. God has truly been doing it...there's just no other explanation.

Hehehe....Roy certainly lends a bit of class to the place!

It still brings a big smile to my face when I think of his thoughfulness in coming to visit us. It just speaks volumes about the man!

John,

If you want to swing over this way, I'll be glad to give you the nickel tour of the place....as long as it's not during church times (between services is perfect!).

Depending on the workload during that time, it's pretty likely that I'll be at the shop over the holiday weekend. This is our busiest time of the year, so I'll probably be there.....lovin' it! :B
