I just upgraded the Gravostyle software yesterday to the latest update (Gravostyle 5 Build 14) and made 100% sure all of my jobs in the "Draw" folder were not to be deleted with the rest of the program. The only thing I didn't do (because I was not aware of a separate location or any location for that matter) was write all of my settings down in a little book so that I could reference them when I had to bring the new software to a more user friendly level. From now on, we're going to keep an 'Engraver's Notebook' to record all settings, cleanings and whatever the heck else I may need to reference. I'm stuck with only the settings I can recall in my head now.
That's why we live and learn...

Nick, restore your computer to the day before you upgraded, all the files should be back to normal.

That was my first instinct. Before I even began uninstalling my old Gravostyle, I set a restore point so I could get back to normal just in case of an error on my part. After the upgrade and the realization I lost all my settings, I restored the computer to the point I had set mentioned before. When I attempted to run the original program, my computer told me there was a missing file and was unable to initiate the program at all. I tried restoring from a few days earlier to no avail.

Someone might jump in and correct me, but I believe windows system restore is for the operating system and drivers, not applications. I would guess that the software you upgraded is part application, part driver. System restores are to get the computer running again, if there's a problem, not your software. Don't get it confused with creating a backup.

This worked for me a couple of weeks ago, I installed new firmware & didn't bkup my printer files. I then restored to the day before, copied my printer files (hand copied), then added them to the new printer file. I guess it works if there are no other problems. Linda
