Yeah, We make our own screen printing frames (out of wood and metal) so I figured it wouldn't be all that hard to do that and buy the material, or the other repositionable clear tape that you had suggested.
I've never seen a weeder/sheeter....What a cool product. Now with the money I save with the frame......I might be able to buy the weeder/sheeter....:)
Thanks again for the suggestion. We have been using a print laminate and cut system for industrial grade labels (been selling well) and I was hoping to expand into some of the vinyl signage to compliment our full color banner options. Running a graphtec FC 7000 At 54" wide. So far so good......

I'm interested in purchasing an inexpensive vinyl cutter. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations for brands or models or suppliers??? I am sponsoring a local dirt track so there are a few race cars I could pick up to letter plus I would like to use it for other sorts of signage. I use CorelDraw 12 with my Epilog laser. I assume this software is compatible with creating vinyl graphics too.

We have been very happy with our Graphtec cutter.
I couldn't be happier. I did several months research on them, and really liked what I could get with the FC family.
I tested a 36" in house for a month then committed to a 54".

Brian,
I have heard great reviews of the Graphtec plotters. Your comment is right in line with the others I have heard. I guess this explains why Engraving Concepts selected it as their brand of choice for plotters.

Oops,
Guess the one we had for a month was a 30" thought it was a 36"...Nice machine. Affordable too. We just wanted something that would match up to our printer width.
I started my initial research here on this forum as well, and was directed to them.
So far it has handled everything that I have thrown at it...The registration on print/cut projects is really impressive.....I honestly didn't expect it to be as accurate as it is.

Ken,
I checked the link again and it seemed to work fine on Internet Explorer 6. What browser are you using?

Hmmmm? I'm not sure where to go from here. :S It was a link to the Graphtec area of their site. It may have somethig to do with a security setting. I'm really grasping here.

I'm not sure either. :S I just tried to go to the home page, not a sub-page, and it didn't work either. I'd hate to not have access to such a resourse. :'-( I also don't like not understanding why it's not working. :-( Maybe someone else will be able to translate the error message. :D

I just tried with Norton Internet Security disabled. It worked. I'd guess their site is trying to snoop and learn a little about the computers trying to connect. If so, it's not worth it.

Norton internet security will also block pages for simply having an image with words like "banner" or advertising related words in their name. It can be a little too protective at times. It does not mean that the site is trying to snoop on you.

Graphtec is the upper end in vinyl cutters and well worth the price. A friend purchased the Master $495 cutter, after seeing it and comparing to my Graphtec he is not a happy camper. Circle and diaginal cuts are very poor and cutting letting under 1/2" is a waste of time and it is very slow. The software is very limited, basically the Flexisign demo package with a driver for the cutter.
Software for vinyl cutting is another story, Corel isn't the answer with out addons like cocut. ScanVec's Flexisign Pro is the better product if you plan on doing anything more than basic lettering, but's it's 3K+. Flexisign Pro has the best scanning to vector conversion that I have ever seen. The difference between it and Corel X3 trace is like night and day. I guess it goes back to you get what you pay for.

Ken,
I have no idea what I can do to solve the problem BUT I'm happy to point you directly to the Graphtec site at http://www.graphtecusa.com/indeximaging.php
Does that link/site work for you?
I'll check with the technical guys here to see if they have any ideas on why you're "locked out" of our site. I assure you it's not intentional! :-(

Jeanette,
Your's is the only site I've come across that doesn't work. It does work if I disable Norton Internet Secutity. (I do not have the parental controls loaded/running on this computer.) I'm currious if your tech person comes up with anything.
I'm not currently in the market for one, but with the discussion on low price quality cutters, I was curious how much one costs?
