Okay since I've been to both beach parties plus CF's luv in B-) . We fixed one problem this year - ie no music - even though a little hula music would have given Hula Boy something to dance to. (devil) If we return next year - I'd like to request they turn the lights up.
As I have mentioned to David, I wondered if we could get any type of 'deal' with the Hilton for a night (I saw several rooms empty every night.) That would perhaps allow more to 'drop in' - specially when so many other 'vendor parties' are going on at the same time. Just a thought.

David,
My vote would be the 2nd annual beach party....as well.....lets just get some music live or otherwise, and I agree with Zona, have them turn up the lights.

When they started the music, we had them shut it. It made it quite a bit more difficult to talk, especially with my hearing. I was very happy when others had the same problem.

David,
I'm certainly not always happy, but God has given me JOY. I've been blessed way beyond anything I ever deserved.
I have a wonderful wife, and a fantastic daughter. We have our faith, and that keeps us strong.
We're having a major struggle with Janna's job right now, so the "happiness" is tough to find...but there's still JOY.
Incidently, I thought up with a song while we were in Vegas, and I wanted to talk to you about it...but didn't have time. I'll tell you about it in a PM.

Cody,
I didn't realize Janna worked outside of your business. I hope that situation looks up for her.
I've said many times on the forum, that after being on my own, since 1990, I've become virtually unemployable.
Self-employment certainly isn't for everyone, but it sure beats working for a living. :-)

Cody - Keep up the faith - whatever turns out with Janna's job it will be for the best. I do not know the situation but I believe this to be true.

Ummm...no.
I shared it with David L, and he's welcome to share it if he'd like to.

Cody,
I was amused with your premise for a song, based on something you saw in Las Vegas.
It sounds like something Arlo Guthrie could handle. :-)

Cody,
The song would be good in an "Alice's Restaurant" narrative style, with some guitar riffing in the background.
I'll sign off now. The amplification is bothering Uncle Steve. >.<

Steve,
The funny story about that song, is the writer came up with the song and title, when he was absolutely falling-down drunk. No surprise there, given the era.
He was so excited about it that he called a band member and in a drunken slur, blurted out the title.
The title his band member heard through the phone won out. :-)
The intended title?
"In The Garden of Eden"

Another piece of trivia (relevant to the awards industry ;-) )
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida was the first album ever to "go Platinum". It sold so many more copies than any other album at the time that the music industry decided the Gold Record award wasn't enough. Thus the creation of the Platinum Record award, and In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida was the first to receive it.
