Bill,
How we price them depends largely on who the customer is. We tend to cater to schools more than any other type of customer, and give them better pricing than we do to anyone else.
For them, we do 2x material cost, plus $60/hr assembly time. On these trophies, I figure 20 to 30 minutes each (including cutting columns and engraving the plate). That's a pretty generous amount of time. If I'm only doing a single trophy, that's about how long it takes. Doing multiples cuts the time way down, since I can do them in stages....just makes it easier.
I've never done large trophies for anyone but schools, but we would most likely charge 2.5x material, along with the same labor calcs.

Cody,
Nice job. I posted an article from a marketing news letter I get, regarding pricing in the general folder......take a look at it.......I have come to the conclusion that one must price their products and services with regard to profit and profit alone.
This leaves quality, convenience, professionalism...and SERVICE as our only real means of competion....
Regardless, if *I* had to price the trophy you made, it would by necessity be well over $100.00.

my price came at $97.50 pricing and qty discounts have to be considered but I priced it with first col pricing fpr one trophy.. and yes doing one takes more time than doing a qty... my price does not include engraving.. I also have a policy if the customer needs the trophy in under 5 days they pay the shipping charges for any parts not in stock.... .. I try to put orders in every week.. to keep the shipping down.. its the small orders that kill your margin..
